Dallas Texas Stake Father Son Campout

Our boys had the opposite to Tony and Ryan's experience. It's been raining and flooding daily and so most people stayed away from the Campout. Except it dried up just enough that they didn't get all muddy. And it didn't rain the entire time they were down in Grandview.

The only thing they couldn't do was the service project. The place where that was to happen was just too wet.

I let Daron take Jacob this year and was sad but happy that he didn't seem to miss me. He was just so excited to go camping with his dad and big brother.

He took to it very well!
I guess they ate a lot of hot dogs. Nathan proudly told me his daddy ate four!
They all came home tired and Jacob went right down for a long nap. Nathan was a grouch all day. But they have good memories.

Esther and I took a friend out for pupusas for her birthday. Then we went to an Activity Days mother/daughter book club at the church. We each brought a favorite book and told why we liked it. You could dress in character if you wanted. Esther dressed as Briar Beauty, a character from one of the Ever After High books.
Then we went to her friend's house for a stay late get together. The mother and I talked, she gave me a tour of their new home (they've been in it since mid-March), and the girls ran around like crazy people, played hide and seek, and slid down the stairs. Note to self: a too open floor plan causes too much noise.

We got to bed by 11pm which also ended up causing a grouchy Esther all day Saturday. Guess we won't be doing any late nights for a LONG time!
