Dinner was over, dirty dishes were piled high, loads of laundry were calling to me, kids needed to get ready for bed, and Daron was running out the door for meetings at the church.
I sat on the couch to nurse Jacob and took one look around the house and the mess and the hyper children and suddenly felt depressed and dreading the rest of the evening.
So I told the kids to forget the pjs and get swimsuits on instead.
They thought I was insane.
We played at the splash park and ate ice cream at Sonic on the way home. They got to bed late and the house was still a mess. But Mommy didn't lose her cool and we made a memory.

You continue to inspire me. I will do this one day. I think I would enjoy the shock factor.
You're an awesome mom! Look at those happy kids.
Way to go! Your kids are so lucky to have you for a mom, and not me. I would not have had the will/energy/guts to take on such an adventure after a full day with busy kiddos. You rock!!
You're the best Mom in the world!
Wow. I'm having one of those kinds of days - maybe we'll do this today! thanks for the inspiration!
Seriously impressed.
Great idea! I need to do this, so that I can keep my cool more often!
