As we prepare for this little one to come, I realized that our old infant carrier had expired. Now, there's a lot of debate as to how long carseats actually last. But considering we do live in a very warm climate where the carseats sit in very hot temperatures for long periods of time, I'm going to err on the side of safety and buy a new one.
Besides, with a $50 Amazon gift card, the new infant carrier cost us a grand total of $10.
So now the question was: what to do with the old one? You can't give it away. It's expired. If you just leave it out in your trash, chances are someone will take it and use it. So everyone online was saying that you should rip it apart and then put it in the trash. So it can sit in the landfill? I needed another option.
I checked with the Dallas Recycling facilities and they led me to a place called World Wear Project which collects old clothes, shoes, etc. for donation as well as for breaking down and reusing the materials. They will take the carseat and use the materials for some other purpose. Perfect!
Ladies in the Dallas area - if you are looking for a place to get rid of your old expired carseat, here is the information you'll need:

Hey - I'm so glad you posted this. I have a lot of stuff I can donate to this organization! One comment - the address posted is incorrect. You left off a 7. :-)
I need to find out what they have in Las Vegas for stuff like that. Thanks for the great idea!
Thanks, Sally! Address fixed!
This number no longer works (the owner will send you a very aggressive text message asking who you are). The new number is:
