Goodbye, Grandpa

My parents just called to let me know that Grandpa Brown passed away about an hour and a half ago. We had just been discussing this afternoon that it probably wouldn't be much longer, but I didn't think it would be quite so soon.

He had finally left the rehab center just over a week ago and was finally at home. He slipped quietly away while he and Grandma were having a quiet talk, but not before he gave Grandma a kiss. Considering the fact that they were not always very affectionate to each other, this was so sweet to hear.

He was in his library, surrounded by his hundreds of prized possessions. It was just the way I'd been praying he'd go.

As my tears fall, I am imagining the joyful reunion he's having with his mother, his adopted father, his mother-in-law (my Noni, whose cooking he adored), and all those he loves who have passed on before him.

Grandpa, I miss you already. Know how much I look up to you and love you.

Your loving granddaughter and your one and only,
"Miss Latour"

What a sweet tribute. I am sorry for your loss, but happy for you and your grandmother that it was a peaceful passing.
