Front Yard Makeover

On Friday, the landscaping company put in our new front! It looks loads better than it used to. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a good before picture. The mound of new soil and mulch will help keep things alive and healthy. Also, the plants are forgivable and more heat tolerant. Finally, there is now a better watering system in place. We moved one of the old crepe myrtles to the far side of the driveway. This Saturday, Daron will put the other one there, too. That is, if it lives that long in the bucket of dirt!

All the bushes will grow together and there is also room for seasonal color along the border. I'm going to plant impatiens again near the downspout as that seemed to work well last year.

Granted, we could have done this ourselves, but considering our current schedules, it would have taken all summer to pull off a job like this. It was just worth it to have someone else do it. And the guys that worked were super nice and were very careful to clean up after themselves. Esther and Nathan played in the dirt pile in the driveway for about an hour as they were finishing up. Esther kept talking to them, but they just smiled at her - they didn't speak English except for the foreman. But she kept telling them thank you and waving at them as they drove off.

Well, what do you think?

It's beautiful! I love every bit of it. That looks like a lot of work too, but so worth it.

Looks great! Somehow I always ever seem to see it at night, so it's fun to see it during the day in your pictures!
