Summer Fun in TX Part I

I was downloading pictures from the Nikon and figured I'd better post some of them up. I have more on my phone that I will try to get up soon, too. Since Esther's theater camp and Nathan's robotics camp ended, we have been doing non stop swimming lessons, boat outings, library trips, grocery runs, book reading, crafts, show watching, sprinkler fun, and even took an overnight trip to Lake Texoma. A friend in the ward loaned us his cabin right on the lake for the night and we invited a nephew and his wife who just moved to Houston to join us. More on that later!

It seems that I find this situation more and more frequently in the evenings now. I love it!

This was Adah's first experience with the sprinkler. It took her awhile to warm up to the idea.

As long as she didn't have to sit in the grass.

Big brothers make everything better....

June 18 was Nathan's baptism. I started taking pictures outside but my camera lens kept fogging up! What a handsome kid. He had been looking forward to this day for several years and was grinning nearly all day!

My parents, Daron's parents, and Daron's brother Damon were able to come for the event.

Sunday was Father's Day. We all went to church together and then came home for some pictures. My parents being silly.

Nathan was getting embarrassed.

Then we celebrated Father's Day and Adah's family birthday party. The theme was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It was adorable.

I think she liked the party. And the presents. Especially the stroller that she wouldn't stop pushing around.

And threw a fit if anyone else touched it. "I'm looking at you, Jacob...."

Adah's First Birthday

Sweet Adah just turned one! I can't believe how fast this year has gone. Adah is starting to walk now and talks really loud to keep pace with her siblings. She hates being left out! She also loves table food and pretty much refuses any pureed baby food. She doesn't mind things being put through the baby food grinder, though. So long as she knows it's what we are all eating!

We went to lunch with Daron and then drove up to IKEA. Mom sent a text asking me to send her a picture of Adah in the outfit she sent so we took pictures of her in the grass by the car. She hated the itchy grass so I had to put down her blanket before she would cooperate.

We are going to have a big party for her when family is in town for Nathan's baptism. But on her birthday we had to have a little party for her.

Anticipating the yummy goodness to come!
Jacob helping Adah to blow out the candle.
 What is this deliciousness?
The cupcake was a bit top heavy and fell over.
Tasting...

It was so funny watching her get into it. We were laughing so hard at her antics and she just kept up a slow and steady pace, grabbing the cupcake by the fistfuls and shoving them into her mouth.
A fun book from Grandpa and Grandma Janis.
A tunnel from Mommy and Daddy. She took to it really quick. Back and forth, back and forth...
